Chiropractic
The creator of chiropractor, DD Palmer, focussed on the middle of the back. The second great chiropractor (his son), B.J. Palmer, focussed on the upper neck. The third great chiropractor, Clarence Gonstead, focussed on the pelvis. We’re still waiting on the fourth great chiropractor ~ what do you think he or she would focus on?
“I’ve had the good fortune to be mentored for two years by one of B.J. Palmer’s students, and for two years by one of Gonstead’s students” – Simon
Traditional chiropractic was based on helping the nervous system through hands-on healing. Chiropractic later shifted towards helping back pain, neck pain and headaches. However, it is now coming full circle again to support nervous system health.
The traditional chiropractic of B.J. Palmer and Clarence Gonstead was based on chiropractic adjustments with minimal rotation – which is quite difficult. Modern chiropractic has shifted more towards rotational adjusting – which is a lot easier. I adjust as much as possible without rotation, especially in the neck. The general public may not notice the difference, but you may intuitively feel it when you see it.
It can actually be quite difficult these days to find a chiropractor who is both gentle yet firm, and who adjusts the spine with minimal rotation.
